R. Bruce Murray, CFA
CEO and CIO
Mr. Bruce Murray, The Murray Wealth Group’s (MWG) CEO and CIO, brings a wealth of experience from his 40 years in the institutional money management business. Prior to launching MWG in 2015, Bruce spent 25 years at McLean Budden as an Executive Vice President and Managing Director. He was one of the key Portfolio Managers of the Canadian Equity Growth Fund, one of the largest equity portfolios in Canada at the time, the American Equity Fund, the International Equity Fund and the Global Equity Growth Fund. As a Portfolio Manager on the American Equity, he enjoyed one of the best track records in the industry, growing the portfolio to over $5 billion. In total, Bruce helped to grow McLean Budden’s equity portfolios to around $30 billion in assets under management from 1990 until its sale to MFS Investment Management in 2011. Bruce also ran portfolios for high net worth individuals, in which MWG will specialize.

Prior to McLean Budden, Bruce was Vice President and Equity Analyst at Nesbitt Thomson from 1985 to 1990 where he achieved top rank as a Special Situations Analyst in the Brendan Wood International Survey of institutional investors.
Bruce started his investment career in 1976 at Crown life Insurance Company in Toronto as an International Economist and Financial Services Analyst and was Manager Canadian Equities when he left in 1985 to join Nesbitt Thomson.
Jamie Murray, CFA
Head of Research, Portfolio Manager
Mr. Jamie Murray, has a decade of experience and a broad background in financial and strategic analysis with specific experience in financial analysis and valuation. Prior to joining MWG in 2017, Jamie worked in Winnipeg at Investors Group as Manager, Strategic Analytics, supporting the executive team with product implementation, regulatory navigation and corporate profitability.
Jamie was also employed by Desjardins Capital Markets as a Research Analyst and helped build the firm’s expansion in Calgary covering the Oil & Gas Services Sector. Before moving to Calgary, Jamie worked in Toronto on Desjardins Capital Markets, Sales & Trading floor as a “desk” analyst, supporting the sales team by developing investment themes and trade ideas.
Jamie has also worked as a Compensation Analyst in Calgary with an independent boutique firm, assisting firms in the oil & gas and mining sectors with implementing best practices in executive compensation.
Jamie started his investment career in 2007 at Dundee Capital Markets in Calgary as a Research Associate in the Oil and Gas Sector after graduating from The Richard Ivey School of Business. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2011.
Michael Hakes, CFA, MBA
Senior Portfolio Manager
Mr. Michael Hakes joined The Murray Wealth Group as Senior Portfolio Manager in 2018. Michael has over 25 years of global equity portfolio management and analyst experience. Prior to MWG he was with several well known investment managers; British Columbia Investment Management Corp (BCI), McLean Budden and Altamira Management.
At BCI, Michael was a Senior Portfolio Manager working on their Global Thematic Team. He actively managed a concentrated global equity portfolio and was active in mentoring analysts and co-op students. While at McLean Budden, Michael was a VP and Portfolio Manager of global equities. He was a co-manager on the Global Growth Equity Fund and leader of global consumer sector research for the firm. At Altamira Management he was an AVP and PM, Equities. He managed a Global consumer focused sector fund and co-managed a Mid Cap U.S Equity Fund.
Michael graduated with a BA in Economics from The University of Western Ontario in 1987 and an MBA from the University of Bath, School of Management in 1991. He received his CFA in 1999. Michael and his family currently live in Toronto.
Susan Eagleson
Chief Administrative Officer
Sue brings more than 25 years of industry experience to her role as Chief Administrative Officer at the Murray Wealth Group. She oversees the general operations of the firm, including Operations, Compliance, Business Systems and Information Technology, Communications and Employee Relations.
A highly motivated, energetic, and technically competent investment professional with proven experience in Business Development, Client Servicing and Portfolio Management for institutional and individual clients, along with various intermediaries. Sue collaborates cross-functionally across organizational levels to build consensus, track benchmark achievement, and troubleshoot emerging issues.
Sue began her career with McLean Budden in 1994 and progressed within the firm to lead their Separately Managed Accounts business. When MFS acquired McLean Budden in 2011, she focused on her role as a client advocate, responsible for the overall client experience and ensuring client needs were met and exceeded.
Sue graduated with a BA in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1993 and received her Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2002.

Mostafa Ali
Manager of Operations
Mostafa Ali, Murray Wealth Group’s Operations Manager, joined the firm in January 2017. His main responsibilities include contributing to the firm’s fund operations, portfolio administration, trade settlements, client services, and administrative tasks. Most importantly, he is here to advise, train and continue to raise awareness amongst company staff on the significance of business ethics and compliance.
Mostafa excels at customer service and attention to detail. His experience in retail and real estate has honed these skills. His can-do attitude is a perfect match for the Murray Wealth Group Team.
Mostafa has a BA with Honours from Middlesex University in London, England.
Michaela Dickey
Client Relations Manager
Michaela Dickey, Murray Wealth Group’s Client Relations Specialist, joined The Murray Wealth Group in the Spring of 2019. Her main responsibilities include contributing to the firm’s operations administration, marketing, client services and relations.
Michaela has extensive experience in both the Hospitality and Arts industries, specializing in client relations, sales and events, and administration. She is a dynamic self-starter, adept in learning and implementing new technologies and software.
Michaela holds a Masters in Music and Artist Diploma from McGill University – her former studies and employment experience have provided a unique perspective linking artistic creativity with a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and ease in communicating and collaborating with people in a wide-range of artistic and corporate environments.
